Vo passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 19, 2018 following a short illness. He was born on November 24, 1931 in Mytho, Vietnam, the son of Nam V. Vo and Nhieu T. Nguyen. Nhon married the love of his life, Hoanglan T. Vo on June 25, 1960. He taught secondary school Philosophy in Vietnam prior to settling in Kalamazoo in 1981. A dedicated family man and loving father, he worked hard as Lab Technician at James River Paper to unite his family in the US in 1989-1998. He retired from Perrigo in 2011. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, and especially being a sacristan and altar server in daily Mass at St. Augustine Cathedral. He was also a member of St. Monica Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Trong, Loc, Vinh, Binh; sons: Tam and Triet; and granddaughter: Charlene. He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Hoanglan; sons: Thanh (Loan), Tri (Tim); daughters: Lanphuong (Linh), Lanchi (Randy), Anna (Mike), Kim (Dan); grandchildren: HuynhNga Vo, HuynhAnh Vo, Nhat Vo,ThienKim Vo, Quoc Vo, Lam Vo, Lam To, Linhthy To, Luan To, Ashley Le, TrucLam Nguyen, TrucHan Nguyen, ThaoMi Nguyen, Isabelle Oeurn, Alison Oeurn, Gabriel Oeurn, and 3 great grandchildren; siblings: Ngai, Hau, Phuoc, Tho, Khanh, Thang, Yen; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on March 23, 2018 at Redmond Funeral Home from 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm, and from 6:00-pm- 8:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on March 24, 2018 at 10:00 Am at St. Augustine Cathedral, with cremation at Oak Hill Crematory to follow. Special thanks to staff at Bronson Hospital for being patience and supportive while taking care of our father. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Nhon Vo.
