Nellie Grosser

Nellie passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the age of 98. She was born on March 31, 1919 in Kalamazoo, MI a daughter of Steven and Nellie (Maas) Nap and had been a lifelong area resident. She was employed for several years with Midwest Fasteners where she served as a customer service representative. Nellie was a faithful member of Portage Free Methodist Church. On February 17, 1944, Nellie married Gerald R. Grosser who preceded her in death on May 21, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, William Grosser, Jr.; a son-in-law, Richard Trahan; and two sisters, Grace Vonk and Trena Triemstra. Nellie is survived by five children, Nancy (Butch) Fuller, William (Sandra) Grosser, Sr., Judy (Lloyd) Thompson, Dave (Diana) Grosser and Kathie Grosser-Trahan; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Monday, August 28th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., where services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, August 29th. Pastor Chuck Connors will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Ever-Rest memorial Park, South.
