Natividad Alvarez

ALVAREZ - Natividad Alvarez, aged 89, of Kentwood, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, July 26, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Santos; children, Baby Jose, Baby Ester; son, Jose; grandson, Jose Gutierrez; granddaughter, Jenna Bartz; great grandchildren, Monica and Anthony Jenkins. She is survived by her children, Josie (Oswaldo) Gutierrez, Jesse Alvarez, Ester Garcia, Linda (Mike) Bartz, Christina Alvarez, Robert Alvarez; 26 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Manuel (Lucy) Alvarez, Henry (Sue) Alvarez; and many nieces, nephews and her family in San Antonio, Texas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1213 - 52nd St. SE with Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere and Fr. Steven Cron celebrants. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Rosary service will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Spectrum Health Hospice.
