Nancy Meeks

Meek, Nancy L. Formerly of Kalamazoo Passed away April 27, 2017 after a battle with cancer. Nancy is survived by her husband, Dan Meek; her son, John McKinney; her siblings, Marilyn Schmidt, Bill McKinney and her loving Aunt Millicent who helped raise her when she was a young girl, after the loss of her parents. Nancy loved her family and was as close to her son, John, as a mother could be. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren, Izzy, Porter, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Seth and Sierra, along with her beloved pets and will be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. After accepting a job transfer in 1997, Nancy moved to North Ogden, UT where she fell in love with the mountains and enjoyed camping, fishing and Nascar races with Dan, her husband of 14 years and friend of 27 years. Nancy was a proud Gun Lake Tribal Citizen and had the best memories of helping her tribe host the gathering of 2014 and seeing many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Joyce (Sprague) McKinney and Thelbert McKinney. Memorial services to honor Nancy will be 2 PM Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Jijak Campground 2558 20th St. Hopkins, MI.
