Michael Walkington

Public servant, born November 17, 1946, to Pauline J. and Russell C. Walkington, who preceded him in death. Public service came early to Mike as an Eagle Scout, Marine Corps Sgt., Deputy Sheriff, Supervisor for Delhi Charter Township, Chairman for State of Michigan Resource Recovery Commission and retiring as Lt. from Michigan Department of Corrections. As owner of Vevay Valley Golf/Ski Club in Mason, he continued serving community as V.P. for Holt Jaycees and President of Miller Road Optimist Club. Mike is survived by his sons, Clifford (Jen) Walkington, Kevin (Tressa) Walkington, Andrew (Jenny) Angerman and Matt Angerman; five grandchildren, McKenzie, Chase, Zachary, Derek, and Audrey; sister, Pat (Doug) Wightman; and special friend, bunky, Joyce Bauer. He was preceded in death by his parents, mothers of his children Bev (Clifford and Kevin) and Marianne (Andrew and Matt) and his brother, Daniel. Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Holt United Methodist Church, 2321 N. Aurelius Rd. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Tuesday.
