Maxine Vincent

Passed away Sunday morning, September 23, 2018. Maxine was born April 30, 1924 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Clifford and Marjorie (Gage) Dunning. She was a graduate of Richland High School in 1941 and attended the Parsons Business School. Maxine also was a graduate of Henry Ford School of Nursing under the Cadet Nurse program in 1948. She worked for various healthcare facilities in the area for several years. Prior to her retirement she was employed with the Upjohn Company as a clinical nurse until 1976. Maxine enjoyed winters in Florida, square dancing, line dancing, knitting, crocheting, and playing cards. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Jewett; her second husband, Robert K. Vincent; and her brother, Jack Dunning. She is survived by her sons, Don (Dianne) Jewett; David (Susan) Jewett, Dale (Janice) Jewett; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00-12:00pm Saturday, September 29 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. Private interment will be held at a later date in Genesee Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Tinnitus Association.
