Mary Savage

Mary K. Savage, 57, died at home Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, after her fourth struggle with cancer.

Mary was born July 16, 1960, in Traverse City, MI and was a lifelong area resident. She obtained an Associate’s Degree in Technology from Northwestern Community College and worked for many years at TBAISD in technology/web support. She was known as an extremely hard worker who would drop anything to help anyone. She took great pride in her work and was proud to be a part of the TBAISD family.

Mary was a talented quilter and enjoyed making gifts for everyone she knew. Her creativity and hard work will be appreciated for many years to come.

All who knew Mary could see the love she held for her family. She is survived by three daughters; Samantha Schlegel (Shawn Schlegel), Celina Kirsch (John Wright), and Sabrina Dobb (Luke Dobb). She is also survived by her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life; Aaron, Deven, Aleah, James, Julianna, Alexis, Addyson, Trisha, Payton, Hailee, and Morgan. She enjoyed playing games, having tea parties, and teaching them how to sew.

Her giving spirit, love for the Lord, and spunky attitude will live on through her family.

Per her request an informal celebration of life will be held on September 30, 2017 at 5276 Marks Ln. Traverse City, MI 49684, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Mary has always been an advocate of higher education and women in non-traditional careers.
