Mary Pompey

Mary J. Pompey, age 83, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away early Monday morning, March 13, 2017 at Medilodge of Kalamazoo. She was born on March 21, 1933 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Arthur and Frances (Kersten) Crampton. Mary was a 1951 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. On Sept. 1, 1951, she married Walter A. Pompey. Surviving are two children, Tom Pompey of Florida and Teresa Pompey of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren: Shana Pompey, Kaylie Jannings and Morgan Pompey-White (Ken); great-grandson: Brayden Casanto; two brothers: Charles and James Crampton; sister: Janet McCoy; former spouse, Walter Pompey; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Michael Pompey in 1977; and brother: Stanley Crampton. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or services. Inurnment will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kalamazoo Senior Services. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes.
