Martha Spencer

Martha M. Spencer, of Plainwell, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the age of 89. She was born on November 11, 1926 in La Paz, IN. She was the daughter of Rev. Walter and Bertha (Birk) Mangun. She married Spencer C. Spencer.

Martha was a loyal employee of the Plainwell paper Mill for 43 years. She loved to dance. The last year, you could find Martha in her room listening to her favorite oldies station on her battery-operated radio.

She is survived by a son – Billy F. Shearer, a daughter – Sharon Lee Lober, and a son-in-law – Mike Walsh. Also, surviving are her grandchildren – Brian (Pam Lilly) Shearer, Kimberly Adams-Short (Reggie), Laura (TJ) Fuelling, Kenny (Shannon Kimble) Adams, Billy (Melissa) Shearer, and Monica (Jonathon) Jacobs and several great-grandchildren. Also survived by her special companion: Jerry Garlock

She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer C. Spencer, and her daughter, Rebecca Walsh.
