Age 88 Passed away peacefully at her home in Hospice Care surrounded by her beloved family on July 5, 2019. The daughter of the late Elmer and Hazel Schrader, Marjorie was born on November 2,1930 in Nottawa, Ml. Marjorie grew up in Three Rivers, Ml and then in February of 1949 she was united in marriage to James E. Silman. They then moved to the Kalamazoo area where they made their home for 66 years until his passing in 2015. She lived a very full and blessed life, filled with lots of hard work but also plenty of wonderful adventures, all of which were more than she could ever have imaged. She was an extremely lovable, kind, and caring person to all that knew her, especially her many friends. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and friends and loved to entertain. It didn't matter if it was a gathering for a celebration, a holiday, just for fun, or a special family meal, she was the "hostess extraordinaire". She is survived by her three children Sandra (Richard) Bennett of Portage, James (Jeri) Silman of Richland, Robert (Linda Ward) Silman of Kalamazoo, four grandchildren Brian (Stacy) Bennett of Titusville, FL, Kristine (Michael) Coe of DeWitt, Ml, Jonathan Silman of Kalamazoo, Robert J. (Katie) Silman of Bloomington, IN; and two great grandchildren Dylan Filcek and Caitlin Coe. Also surviving is her brother Keith (Beverly) Schrader of Three Rivers, Ml; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 6-8pm Friday, July 12 and from 11-12pm Saturday, July 13 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007 where funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, July 13 with Pastor Matt Weiler officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. To view Marjorie's personalized guestbook please visit http://www.langelands.com.
