Marilyn Kay Schoonbeck

Went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 26, 2019. Marilyn was born on July 8, 1949 in Kalamazoo, a daughter of William and Adrianna (Wolfert) Doorn. She was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School in 1967. She worked as a daycare provider for 8 years and then at Upjohn/Pfizer for 20 years before retiring. Marilyn was also a member of Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church where she worked in the library for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Royce Lynn; a sister, Carol Ann; and a nephew, Douglas Doorn. Marilyn is survived by her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Tamara) Schoonbeck of Mattawan and Mark (Veronica) Schoonbeck of Paw Paw; 2 grandchildren Evan and Adrianna Schoonbeck of Paw Paw; brother and sister-in-law, Roger (Eleanor) Doorn of Portage; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Langeland Family Funeral homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo MI 49009. Private graveside services will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 31st at Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church, 9316 Oakland Dr, Portage MI 49024. Pastor Phil Kok will officiate.
