Marilyn C. Geoghan, age 81, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Franciscan Villa, South Milwaukee. She was born in Milwaukee, October 1, 1936, daughter of Joseph and Beatrice (Nee: Dixon) Manthy.

On April 29, 2000 she was united in marriage to Donald J. Geoghan. She had been employed by Lincoln Village Convalescent Center where she also volunteered for sixteen years. She was a longtime active member of Calvary Baptist Church. In Marilyn’s younger years she was actively involved as a Den Mother, a volunteer with the Food Pantry, and was one of the first counselors with the LaLeche League. She will be fondly remembered as an excellent cook and baker. More than anything she cherished time with her family.

She will be dearly missed by her mother, Beatrice Manthy; her children, Robert Romprey of Fond du Lac, Lawrence (Linda) Romprey of Watertown, Michael (Cindy) Romprey of Waupaca, Paul (Theresa) Romprey of Pearson, Julie Schowalter of Racine; five grandchildren; sister, Linda Steiner of Bayview; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph; her husband, Donald; and her special son-in-law, Mark Schowalter.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday, February 23, 2018, 6:00 P.M. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until time of service at 6:00 P.M. Memorials to the V.F.W. Post 1391 have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Racine Family Care Nurse, Karen Evans, and all the caregivers at Hometown Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. Also a very special thank you to her grandson, Justin, for his constant love and devotion through the years.
