Marie Holmquist

HOLMQUIST - Marie Holmquist of Grand Rapids, formerly of Cedar Springs, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at her home. Marie was born September 25, 1919 in Norway, MI. The youngest of six children. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gale; her daughter Eileen Hoover; and two granddaughters, Mollie and Alexis. Marie, a loving mother, is survived by her children, Bill and Jean Holmquist, Tom and Janet Holmquist, Dan Holmquist, Jim and Lonnie Holmquist, Joanne and Charles DeWinter; son-in-law, Tom Hoover; and 13 grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Lincoln Square and Comfort Keepers, her caregivers, who gave her very special care. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. She will repose in church one hour prior to Mass. Interment Rockford Cemetery. Her family will receive visitors Tuesday 6 to 9 p.m. at Arsulowicz Brothers, Remembrance Mortuary, 3525 Remembrance Rd., where the Rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Faith Hospice.
