Marian MacKinnon

MACKINNON - Mrs. Marian R. MacKinnon, age 82, of Grand Rapids, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron J. "Mac" MacKinnon; and her brother, George "Bud" Loegel. She is survived by her children, Cynthia and Ron Larson, Douglas and Kathy MacKinnon, James MacKinnon, and Patricia MacKinnon; her grandchildren, Dori and Ross Logerquist, Andrew and Jessica McLean, Courtney MacKinnon, and Marna Larson; her great-grandson, Seth Logerquist; her sister, Carol Loegel Smith; and several cousins and nephews. "Mrs. Mac" was a longtime educator in the Grand Rapids Public Schools. She taught at Shawnee Park Elementary School, where she also served as assistant principal. She was a consultant with the Elementary Intern Program and served as principal at Mulick Park Elementary School from 1979-1990. She was a member of the Women's City Club, where she served as treasurer, and was a member of the Grand Rapids Opera Affiliates. Funeral services including committal will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Paul Krupinski officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army. Zaagman Memorial Chapel
