94, of Richland, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Friday, August 17, 2018 at Kairos Dwelling. Peggy was born December 14, 1923 in Battle Creek to Allison and Marguerite Skaggs. Peggy was a 1942 graduate of St. Philip High School, attended Michigan State College and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, John B. Hogan, October 16, 1948. She worked as an R.N. and retired to raise her five daughters. Peggy was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and St. Ann Catholic Church. Was a member of the St. Philip Guild, the St. Gerard Circle, the Leila Hospital Auxiliary, and the Marywood and Bedford Valley Country Clubs. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, loved music from symphony to swing, and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers and PGA golf. Above all else, though, Peggy loved to spend time with her family. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, Al and Kuby Skaggs, her siblings, Patsy, Jimmy, and Mary Jane Skaggs, and her son-in-law, Joseph Jakubowski. She is survived by her five daughters: Patricia (George) Marcinkowski, Anne Jakubowski, Mary (Bob) Randall, Susanne Hogan, and Colleen (John) Schmidt along with her 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Peggy's life will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at St. Ann Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Francis A. Marotti. Final interment will be 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools Foundation or to Kairos Dwelling.
