77 passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 with her daughter Ann by her side. Madelyn passed from Congestive Heart Disease, which she had battled for the past 5 years. Madelyn was born on August 28, 1942 to Hardy and Augusta Johnson in Knoxville, TN. She graduated in 1960 from Halls H.S. On November23, 1961 in Peotone, IL she married Millard Loy. In 1964 their daughter Ann was born and in 1965 their son John was born. In 1969 they moved to Kalamazoo where they remained for the next 55 years. Millard and Madelyn enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel trailer all over the US and Nova Scotia. Also, camping with many friends. Madelyn is survived by her daughter, Ann Steffler, son John Loy, grandson Matthew Steffler all of Schoolcraft and Granddaughter Katelyn and Chase Jones of Middlebury, IN. Madelyns great grandchildren Alexi Ann (5yrs.) and Mason Michael(16 months). Madelyn is also survived by her brother, Hardy Johnson, Knoxville. Her brother in laws Merwyn & Karen Loy of IL and Maynard & Sharon Loy Of TN and several nieces & nephews. Madelyn was proceeded in death by her husband, Millard Loy on July7, 2017, her son in law Robert M. Steffler on March 16, 2019 and her sister Ila Grissom in June 2019. There will be a memorial gathering for Madelyn at her daughters home on October12, from 2-5. Ann Steffler 9064 Alidor Road Schoolcraft, MI 49087 There will be a private Family burial for Millard and Madelyn next spring Memorials can be made to the Oshtemo Historical Society. For the Drake Homestead Ann would like to Thank ALL the wonderful staff at Bronson Commons for the great care and love of my mother. She also loved all of you.
