Lucille Miles

Lucille (Lucy) Henrietta Miles passed away on Saturday, April 14th, 2018. Lucille was born in Kalamazoo on August 21, 1924 to Henry and Lyda Tenbrink. As a young woman Lucy was an athlete and captain of her basketball team at Kalamazoo Central High. She was proud of her work at Upjohn before getting married to her first husband and starting her family. Lucy loved flowers and was known for her beautiful yard and garden on Pickerel lake for which she received an award and was featured in the Kalamazoo Gazette. Lucy loved entertaining her family, friends and traveling with her late husband Marvin Miles.

Lucy had five siblings Harold, Donald, Kathryn VanderHorst and Gladys Pikkart preceded her death. Her remaining sister is Doris Drenth. She has five children Gay Lou Brown (Jay), Caren Braymer (Michael Kruk), Mary Beth Bonte, Bob (Barb), and Billy (who preceded her death) and two step children, Sharon Winningham (Verle), David Miles (Linda), eight grandchildren Renee, Rick, Ben, Beau, Michelle, Landon, Jenny, Lily, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Lucy will be remembered for her fun loving spirit, joking nature and the love she showed for the people around her. In lieu of sending flowers, please donate to charity of your choice.

Burial will be at Mt Everest on S. Westnedge on Tuesday at 2:45pm with a Service at 4:00pm and a gathering to follow at 4:30pm at McCowen & Secord Funeral Home; 5975 Lovers Lane.
