Louis Abdoo

Louis and Wadad Abdoo, of Grand Rapids, feel asleep in the Lord within hours of each other, Louis on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 and Wadad on Wednesday, May 14, 2008. They were joined in marriage for 52 years and entered blessed repose together. Surviving are their sons, George (Tina) Abdoo of Lowell, Mike (Cathy) Abdoo of Kentwood; five grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Nicholas, Devon and Dahlea; brother of Wadad, Emile (Jocelyn) Semaan; nephews, George (Cheryl) Semaan, Jason (Marisela) Semaan; niece, Suzy Semaan and many other nieces and nephews. Louis worked for 35 years at Spartan Stores. They were devoted members of St. George Orthodox Church where Wadad was a member of the Ladies Golden Links Society and was responsible for the Holy Bread each Sunday. They were loving parents, grandparents and friends who were devoted to each other, their church and God. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Church with the very Reverend Father John G. Winfrey and the very Reverend Father John Estephan officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Trisagion at 8 p.m. at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home. On Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. there is a visitation at St. George Orthodox Church before the funeral service. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. George Orthodox Church.
