SCHNEIDENBACH, LORRAINE P. Kalamazoo, MI Lorraine died Saturday December 30th, after a very long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was born on May 8th, 1932 in Chicago, IL and was proceeded in death by her husband Walter (Wally) A. Schneidenbach Sr. After graduating with a Nursing degree from Northwestern University, Lorraine worked as a registered nurse in her early 20's, and later in her life, after having 4 children, she decided to return to college, earning a bachelor's and master's degree from Western Michigan University. Lorraine was an instructor at Bronson School of Nursing, and had a great passion for her students, enjoying seeing her students learn and succeed in their studies and R.N. training. She had many diverse interests, including cooking, gardening, volunteering at Edison Elementary School as a reading mentor, helping serve lunch at Ministry with Community, attending religious education classes with her friends at Westminster Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church, and walking with Wally Sr. in the neighborhood. She loved her family, and is survived by her 4 children: Nancy Green, Wally Jr. (Jill) Schneidenbach, Paul Schneidenbach, and Mary (Keith) Pickering. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Anna, Mike, Jennifer, Bre, Jimmy, Sarah, John, and Kristen; 1 great-grandson Billy, and 1 niece, Jan (Tom) Hutchins. A visitation will take place from 1:00-2:00, and a funeral service will follow at 2:00, on Saturday January 13th, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 (www.langelands.com).
