Lois Theresa Fortier, 77, of Traverse City, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015.

The daughter of Gordon and Louise (Gundlach) Griffith, Lois was born on March 8, 1938 in Racine, Wisconsin. She married her husband, Ron, on May 15, 1965 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Lois previously worked with the Manassas Virginia Credit Bureau and the Girl Scout Council in Traverse City. She was a member of the Cast Bullet Association and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bunco, crafting and all sports ... especially shooting, bowling and baseball.

Lois is survived by her husband, Ralland “Ron” Fortier; children, Laurence (Annette) Fortier, Loretta (Antonios) Kekalos and Bernadine (Stephen) Sweetland; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Gordon (Delores) Griffith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and her son, James.

Memorial contributions may be made to a Shriners Hospitals for Children or Cherryland Humane Society.

An informal gathering will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015 at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City.
