Leslie Hume, Jr.

Hume, Leslie, Jr. Plainwell Passed away Sunday July 17, 2022, with family by his side. Leslie was born on September 5, 1927, to the late Laverne and Leslie Hume, Sr. in Huntersville, Missouri. Early in his life, Leslie married the love of his life, Beverly, on January 27, 1945, who he spent 77 loving years with. After serving in the Navy, Leslie went on to work at a papermill and eventually went on to own his Jewelry store with Beverly. In his free time, he loved to go fishing and later in life, Leslie loved traveling with Beverly. Aside from his family, Leslie's faith was the most important thing to him. Leslie was a very devout Charter member of what was originally United General Baptist Church and is now Discovery Church. Leslie was very passionate about lending a hand whenever it was needed at the church. Leslie is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Rick Hume, Sonya (Joe) Brower, Dennis Hume; grandchildren, Emily (Andy), Eric (with first wife Peggy), Jennifer, Jeremy, Ambrosia (Jason); great-grandchildren, Rich, Margaret, Greg, John, Keegan, Jaeden, Cameryn, Addison, Jacob, James, and Annabelle. Preceding him in passing are his parents, brother, Dale Hume, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Hume. A Funeral Service will be held to honor Leslie at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 South Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49007 on Friday July 22, 2022, at 2pm. Visitation will be held for friends and family to visit one hour prior to the service, from 1pm to 2pm. Leslie will be laid to rest following the service at East Cooper Cemetery.
