Leonard “Lenny” E. Sokolowski, age 88, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his residence. Leonard was born in Fond du Lac, January 24, 1929, and raised by his grandparents Peter and Josephine (Nee: Sczupackiewicz) Sokolowski.

During the Korean War Lenny proudly served in the United States Army. On June 2, 1956 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Delores “Lorrie” Kesselmen who preceded him in death, June 26, 2006. He was employed by Mamco for thirty-three years, retiring August 1, 1994. Lenny was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Friends of Seniors, and Disabled Veteran’s Chapter #9. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed bowling, gardening, classic cars and spending time with the “Out to Lunch Bunch.”

He will be dearly missed by his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie (Ovidio) Escobar of Union Grove, Kathy (Richard) Hintz of Racine; his four grandchildren, Jason, Travis, Joshua, and Amber; his three great-grandchildren, Romello, Trey, and Carmen; sister-in-law, Karla Christensen of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his grandparents and wife he was preceded in death by his mother, Hedwig “Hattie” Emerson; sisters, Lillian (Bernard) Sokolowski and LaVerne (Nick) Sokolowski; sister-in-law, Charlene (Jerry) Gill, Sandi (John) Vassh and brother-in-law, Jack Christensen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. have been suggested. Memorials to Disabled Veteran’s Chapter 9 have been suggested.
