Mrs. Leona M. Zahl, age 78, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2005. She was born in Detroit, MI on September 22, 1926 to Gerrit & Maude Stoel & was raised in Antrim County and graduated from Ellsworth High School. Leona came to Muskegon in 1944 to attend Muskegon School of Business. She worked for many years at Continental Motors and later Family Financial Credit Union. Leona married Joel P. Zahl on June 26, 1953 in Muskegon & he preceded her in death. She was a member of Fifth Reformed Church.

SURVIVORS

2 daughters, Carla Steve Jolman of Muskegon, MI & Beverly Zahl of Rockford, MI; 3 grandsons, SSGT Thomas Melissa Jolman of Spangdahlen AFB, Germany, A1C Dustin Dana Jolman and their children Micah & Savannah of Ellsworth AFB, SD and Andrew Jolman of Muskegon, MI; 3 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Stoel of Charlevoix, MI, Alice Stafford & Emily Zahl both of North Muskegon, MI; many nieces and nephews and their families; special friend Nate Moser & his family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel P. Zahl in 1988 & by 2 brothers, Arthur & Harold Stoel.

SERVICE

Saturday, April 2, 2005, 1:00 PM at Fifth Reformed Church with Rev. Kurt Dillinger officiating. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

VISITATION

Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Clock Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: In lieu of flowers please consider the American Diabetes Association or Fifth Reformed Church.
