Leon Zeter

Zeter, Leon passed away at Rose Arbor on Sunday, February 24th. Leon was born on June 29, 1935 in Lincoln, Illinois; the son of Carl and Helen Zeter. He had a brother, Norman. Leon was raised in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1953. After serving two years in the U.S. Army, he enrolled at the University of Illinois and earned a degree in Industrial Engineering. Later he would earn an advanced degree from the University of Iowa. In 1961, Leon married Linda Dorsett, also from Lincoln. They had two children - Michael Zeter from Allegan, Michigan and Deana Harkness, wife of Shawn Harkness, from Palm Springs, California. He also had a grandson, Cameron Zeter. Leon was Plant Manager at several manufacturing companies in various states. The family saw every move as a new adventure. Leon enjoyed playing golf, playing bridge, and enjoyed woodworking. He loved volunteering with the Tuesday Toolmen through the Kalamazoo Senior Center. Per his wishes, his body will be cremated and laid to rest at Fort Custer. There will be no service or visitation.
