Died Friday, June 2, 2006 at the Allegan General Hospital. Lee was born June 14, 1945 in Allegan, the son of Edward J. and Elizabeth (Roltsch) Schwennesen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. Surviving is his wife, Jean (Noteboom), whom he married December 29, 1979. Their 26 years of marriage were wonderful, laughing every day, and he was loved by everyone. Also surviving are 1 son, David Schwennesen, Allegan; 2 step-sons, Clyde Meade of Allegan, and Bret (Rebecca) Meade of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, Cutter, Ferren and Stacey; mother, Elizabeth Schwennesen of Allegan; 1 brother and his wife, Alan and Kathy Schwennesen of Middleville; nieces and nephews, Curtis and Dawn Channells and their 4 sons, Andrew, Jordan, Zach and Cody bear, Jason Gant and his daughter, Jade, Cory Noteboom, Chad and Khrista Noteboom and their sons, Alex and Leo Noteboom, Sean Noteboom, Kelly Noteboom, Mark and Michelle Schwennesen and their children, Amber, and twins, Holly and Nick, Jeff and Laura Schwennesen and their children, Matt and Clare; 2 brothers-in-law and their wives, Edwin and Deb Noteboom and Dale and Shirley Noteboom; 1 sister-in-law and her husband, Dawn and Greg Buist; many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; 1 grandson, Dustin Meade; and nephew, Nathan Gant. Friends may meet with the family for a celebration of Lee's life from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the GORDEN FUNERAL RESIDENCE Allegan Chapel. There will be no funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation.
