Jones, Leatrice K. Delton Leatrice Kate (Dunning) Jones passed away on July 23, 2021. Leatrice was born December 29, 1922 to Leon and Beatrice (McDermott) Dunning. She graduated from Delton Kellogg High School and Western Michigan University before attending Wheaton College for her Master's. Leatrice was a longtime teacher for Delton-Kellogg Middle and High Schools. She served as a member and past president of the local teachers association. Leatrice married Lawrence Jones in 1945 and he preceded her in death on August 16, 2012. She enjoyed baking and made the best pies. In her younger years, she was active in 4-H. Leatrice valued her many friends from the Hickory Corners Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday school, vacation bible school, and junior church for many years. Her goal in life was to spread the WORD of GOD, that everyone might, by faith, receive the GIFT of SALVATION. Leatrice developed a constant dependence on God over the past few years, thanking him for all of his goodness. She most of all LOVED Jesus! Leatrice leaves behind a faithful son, Jeremy Jones and his wife RoseElla; grandchildren: Whitney Blischki, Dakota Jones, Julian, and Amillionah "Millie"; nieces and nephews: Dan and Mary Sue Hurlbut, Bob and Janet Lamper, Sherry Hurlbut, Randy and Sue Hendrick and Nancy Ann Otto; cousin: Sheryl Bowman; special friends: Jane Herbert, Rick and Terri Hartman, Beverly Burdick. Also preceding her in death was her son, John Charles Jones; parents; and parents in-law, Donald and Blanch Jones. Leatrice's family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church. Burial will take place in East Hickory Corners Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Lawrence. Memorial contributions to Barry County Commission on Aging or In Touch Ministries will be appreciated.
