Larry Snyder

Larry Snyder passed away at age 87 on January 14, 2020. He was born February 17, 1932 to Albert J. (Red) and Wilma Snyder in Albion MI. Larry and his wife Lois (Sheffield) Snyder both attended Albion Public Schools and graduated in 1950, then they attended Western Michigan College. The couple married in 1951. Larry graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1955 and it opened many doors for him. He overcame his shyness and learned the art of friendly persuasion. He started out by selling pots and pans to single working girls and ended up talking to doctors and pharmacists for a large pharmaceutical company. He loved the outdoors, especially golfing, fishing, and hunting. Larry and Lois were devoted parents to their five children, Steven (Jen), Christopher (Julie A.), Julia L. (Michael Sharp), Denise (Doug), Pam and Valorie. They have eight grandchildren: Michael, Benjamin, Amy, Sarah, Codi, Skyler, Cameron and Mariah along with three great grandchildren, Gabriel, Silas and Ethan. Larry is survived by two siblings, Jenny Thompson (Bobby), and Daniel (Kathleen.) The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8:00PM on Friday, January 24 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street. A service celebrating Larry's long, happy journey will be held Saturday, January 25 at 12:00PM, to be followed by a luncheon at the Langeland Westside Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association or Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 7028 Oakland Dr., Portage, MI 49024.
