With her family by her side, Kristine A. “Luddie” Vogelman, age 55, passed away Thursday February 15, 2018, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Kristine was born in Racine on January 9, 1963, daughter of the late Donald and Claire (nee: Henkel) Vogelman.

Kristine attended Walden High School. She was employed with Pioneer Products for twenty years and was last employed with National Technologies. She cherished the many friendships she made over the years and was so very grateful for their support during her illness.

She loved her Green Bay Packers and Cubbies. Luddie will be best remembered for her kind heart, her great sense of humor, her joy for cooking and her great love for her family, especially her grandchildren, who vote her the best Nanz ever! Kristine was the person who kept the family together with all of her wonderful cookouts and dinner parties. Her greatest joys in life were when her children and grandchildren were born, and she centered her life around them and her dogs. She valiantly fought for years to battle her illness to stay with them.

Kristine will be dearly missed by her children, Jeremy (Kathy) Hovorka, Tyra Hovorka (fiancé, Gabe Schatzman); grandchildren, Derrick and Mikayla Hovorka, Rhylee Brook and Tai Heether; siblings, Randy (Millie) Vogelman, Michele (Joby) Holden, Lisa (Paul) Demet; lifelong best friend, Loreen Mohr; her canine buddies, Skiis and Taylor; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Kristine was also preceded in death by her fiancé, Paul Kopecky.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m. Memorials to the family have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Bradley, Dr. Michael Mullane and their respective staffs, and to Aurora Hospice especially Kate, Kathryn, Jennie, Lisa and Cassandra for all of their loving and compassionate care.
