Entered into eternity on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the age of 90. Ken was born in Holland, MI on January 9, 1928, the son of the late Peter Cook and Anna Breen Cook. On August 31, 1957 Ken married his bride of 60 years, Janet Lee Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was employed by Dutch Boy Bakery (Holland, MI) and Schaefer Bakery (Kalamazoo, MI) for over 30 years. As a dedicated servant of the Lord, Ken devoted 37 years to serving as minister and district leader of the New Apostolic Church of Portage as well as many additional congregations. He found his greatest joys in serving the Lord and in spending time with his wife and family. He was an example of love and humbless in all he did. Ken will be dearly missed by all those who had the blessing of knowing him. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Cook; his children, David (Anna) Cook, Tamara (John) Lindstedt, Kenneth (Michele) Cook II and Peter (Dana) Cook; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Alice Cook; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Suanne (Dave) Weller, one sister and one brother, Geneva (Herb) VanderPloeg and Paul Cook. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 20th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel 3926 S. 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A memorial service will be held at the New Apostolic Church of Portage, 3600 W. Milham Ave, Portage, MI 49024 at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21st.
