Daughter of Traci Hurlbut, Kelli Renee Shults was tragically taken from those that loved her on November 16, 2008 at the age of 7. She lived in Columbus, OH, but Gobles held a special place in her heart. Kelli was in the second grade at Worthington Park, where she loved her EPP class. Reading was a passion, and she read through hundreds of books, including Franklin, Nancy Drew and Fudge. She was at home in the water, loving to swim, ride the boat and tube at Mill Lake. Gobles United Methodist Church was a place where she found happiness, where Kelli loved to help in any way she could, passing out bulletins, ringing the bells or helping to serve at dinners. Kelli's family includes her mother and best friend, Traci Hurlbut; her grandparents, Dennis and Wynne Hurlbut of Gobles; her great-grandparents, Wendell and Gertrude Hurlbut of Gobles and Dolores Watters of Minnesota; her aunt, Kari Hurlbut of Plainwell and her uncle, Justin Hurlbut and Karen Weissert of Flushing; and many other family members. Visit with her family on Friday from 1-3 & 5-8 PM at the Gobles United Methodist Church (210 E. Exchange), where her service will be held Saturday at 2 PM. She will be laid to rest following the service at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please bring a children's book to donate to a school or help Kelli fill an Ark by donating to Heifer International. Kelli's family is being cared for by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
