Keith Ritter, age 67, of Schoolcraft, passed away at Borgess Pipp Hospital on May 20, 2019. He was born August 8, 1951, in Vicksburg, Michigan, to Edwin and Alois (Anderson) Ritter. Keith married his wife Linda (Kasperek) Ritter on May 17, 1975 and they recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. Keith loved to talk. He was personable, fun-loving and big-hearted. He loved getting to know people and would strike up a conversation with anyone. He was kind, generous and a great listener. He was a regular donor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospitals. He was a hard worker. He retired at age 58 after a 34-year career at Upjohn, later Pfizer. His first job at the company was a janitor on the night shift, and he hung up his clipboard while working in management. He loved to play golf, and despite not being a particularly strong golfer, he had many friends who looked forward to playing with him. He also enjoyed tending his garden, tracking current events and rooting for all things University of Michigan. He was a longtime season-ticket holder for Wolverine football, and looked forward to his spot each fall in section 16, row 71. He was a loving husband, a supportive father and an adoring grandfather. He will be missed by his family and many others. Keith's family includes his two sons Jeffery (Fernanda) Ritter; Bradley (Kimberly) Ritter and his 3 cherished grandchildren: Graham, Eliza and Leonardo; nieces and nephews: Michael and Nicholas Shirk, Mia and Nicholas Kasperek; and his sister Elaine Shirk. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Alois Ritter. Services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, May 25 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Friends may meet the family from 10:00-11:00am Saturday prior to the service. A private interment will take place at a later date.
