Kathy Cleveland

Kathleen "Kathy" Kathy (Kuntz) Cleveland, age 77, of Portage, MI passed away with her family by her side on September 9, 2017, in her home. Kathy was born on December 21, 1939 in South Bend, IN to Helen (Corbridge) Kuntz/Wagner and the late Jake Kuntz. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family at their property in Northern Michigan. Kathy was an avid traveler, who would travel frequently to Gulf Shores, Alabama in the colder months with her husband, Carl. She was a big Notre Dame fan, having been born "in the backyard of Notre Dame." Kathy was a manager of Fanny May Candies for more than 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles and camping. She was a long-time devoted Christian, being an active member of Portage Free Methodist Church. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Carl; three sons Jeff (Sara) Cleveland, Mark (Cindy) Cleveland and Todd (Jodie) Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Michelle Cleveland, Lauren Bray, Carly Jo, Shelby, Shannon, Tessa and Austin Cleveland; one great grandson Penn; her mother Helen; and her siblings Judy Bliler, Diane Gutsue, Robert Wagner and Connie Jenson. Her father Jake Kuntz, her stepfather William Wagner, and her son Troy preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at Portage Free Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 13, where the family will hold a visitation at 10 am, with a funeral service at 11 am and a luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions can be made to West Michigan Cancer Center, American Red Cross or Portage Free Methodist Church. All arrangements will be with Langeland Family Funeral Home.
