Passed away Saturday, November 4, 2006 after fighting breast cancer for four years. Kathy was born June 29, 1954, in Carrollton, IL, the daughter of James and Carole (Berry) Terpening. She grew up in Kane, IL, attended Lewis and Clark Community College, and graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. In the 1980s, she was pastry chef at Pavot in Brentwood, MO. She worked in the Social Science Computing Facility at Washington University of St. Louis prior to moving to Kalamazoo in 1995. Kathy was the Director of Institutional Research at Western Michigan University. She loved to entertain and cook for family and friends. Kathy was the beloved wife of J. Kevin Corder; loving mother to James (Julie) Jobe and Benjamin Jobe, all of St. Louis, MO; dear daughter of James and Carole Terpening of Kane, Illinois; and dear sister of David (Robin) Terpening of Kane and Kenneth (and Barbara) Terpening of Jerseyville, IL. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy and Irma (Mundy) Terpening and Kenneth and Garnet (Smith) Berry; and her former husband, Charles Lee Jobe, of St. Louis. A visitation will be held Saturday, November 11 at the Kane Baptist Church, from noon until the the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. (CST). Interment immediately following at the Kane Cemetery. Please join Kathy's family and friends for the service and at the church for a luncheon following the interment. A memorial service will be held on the campus of Western Michigan University at a future date.
