Kathleen Shelton

Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Shelton age 68, from Vicksburg Mi, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9th at her home in Comstock Mi., surrounded by family. Kathy was born in Vicksburg Mi to Richard and Ruth Shelton (Shelley) on May 25, 1950. Kathy attended Vicksburg Schools and later received her high school diploma. She also attended Davenport University and received a Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) Certificate. Prior to her involvement in nursing, Kathy worked at Schwartz's restaurant in Kalamazoo. She worked for several years as a Nurses Aide at Tender Care Nursing Home in Portage. She was a strong and caring person, who was very passionate about the people she worked with and the work she performed. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ruth Shelton (Shelley); daughter, Diane Marie Kingsbury; and first husband, Gary Lynn Kingsbury, Sr. Kathleen is survived by her former husband and cherished friend, John Nelson; son, Gary Lynn Kingsbury, Jr.; daughters, Melissa Ann Jacobs-Skipper, and Andrea Elaine Jacobs. Four siblings and their spouses; Cheryl Shelton Maillard (Ron), Richard Shelton (Terri), Steven Shelton (Lois), and Christine Shelton Decker (Rod). Nine grandchildren; Amber Hopkins, Stacey Kingsbury, Gary Kingsbury III, Miles Briton, Jason Jacobs, Kyle Skipper, Kody Skipper, Justin Skipper, and Brandon Skipper. Seven great grandchildren; PJ Holtrum, Devin Wilkins, Michael Britton, Savannah Britton, Trenton Britton, Natalie Grofvert, Baylee Grofvert, Charlotte Skipper, Riley Reenders, and Russell Reenders. Loved also by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
