Karen P. Nelson

Karen P. Nelson, age 76, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Karen was born in Lancaster, WI, July 28, 1940, daughter of the late Walter and Henrietta (Nee: Jackering) McDonald.

On June 29, 1963 in Lancaster, WI she was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” F. Nelson. She volunteered for twenty years with FamilyFest raising awareness for Child Abuse Prevention and was a member of the Moose Lodge. A passionate golfer, Karen golfed with several local golf leagues. Above all, she always attended her children and grandchildren’s school events whether sports or academics, traveling with them, as well as cooking, crafting, planting flowers, or anything else that involved time together.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Ted; her daughters and son-in-law, Tammylynn Nelson, Michele (Bob) Robinson; her three grandchildren, Zachary Robinson (Kristen Derby) Natalie Longrie, Lauren Longrie-Robinson; her mother-in-law, Ruth Nelson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cheryl McDonald, Tim (Jan) Nelson, Tom (Carolyn) Nelson, Terry (Anne) Nelson, Tony (Rhonda) Nelson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Keith McDonald.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the funeral home, July 25, 2017, 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Bill Mains officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:30 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M.
