K. Robert Sporte

SPORTE – Mr. K. Robert Sporte aged 95, of Jenison and formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; daughter-in-law, Betty Sporte; brother, John and Nell Sporte, and sister-in-law, Peggy Sporte. Robert is survived by his children, Douglas and Lauri Sporte, Thomas Sporte, and Mary Ellen and Case Schipper; grandchildren, Peter Sporte, Karaline and Andy Gormley, Stephen and Louise Sporte, Andrew and Kelly Sporte, Danielle and Michael Gillis, Timothy Sporte, Daniel Sporte, Jessica Sporte, William Sporte, Ashley and Colin Bazen, Arika and Adam Streyle, Benjamin and Katie Schipper, Sarah and Peter Christian, Ryan and Kylene Schipper, Jonathan and Mandy Schipper, Carrie and Michael VanHemert, Daniel and Sarah Schipper, and Isaac Schipper; 34 great-grandchildren; brother, Erwin Sporte; and several nieces and nephews. Robert served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Covell Ave Netherlands Reformed Church, 1255 Covell Ave NW with Rev. A. Ver Hoef officiating. Relative and friends are invited to visit with his family from 6-8 PM on Thursday at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home-Alt and Shawmut Hills Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW.
