Julie Ann (Renoos) Back died suddenly Sunday, October 20, 2019. She was 63. Julie was born in Superior, WI to Norman and Colleen Renoos on July 16, 1956. The Renoos family traveled a fair amount, so Julie's childhood was spent in several states, but Solon Springs, WI was always her heart's home. From high school until her death, Julie lived all over the state of MI where she raised two children and welcomed three grandchildren to whom she was greatly devoted. Much of her adult life was spent in recovery, and helping others in the recovery process. She celebrated 21 years clean this year. The people she met, sponsored, guided and loved in recovery were her second family. As vice Chair of the Allegan Co Women's Jaycees, Julie co-founded the Allegan County Child Abuse/Neglect Council in 1983. Julie is survived by her husband, Jim Back, of Bridgman; her daughter, Jennifer (Blaine) Townsend; son Michael (Marlene) Collick; step-daughter, Jessica Back Ingersoll; siblings Dawn (Jerry) McLaughlin; Joan (Mark) O'Bryan; Patrick (Karen) Renoos; Daniel Renoos; Allison Hutchings; stepmom, Maria Antonieta Renoos; step-siblings, Diana Collins Puente; Juan Carlos Collins and Robert Collins; grandchildren Alastair Fisk, Wednesday and Magnus Townsend, and Savannah Collick; as well as one great grandchild and a very great number of nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She loved each of these individuals immensely. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Colleen Renoos, and siblings Mary Ellen and Michael Norman. Per Julie's wishes cremation will be conducted with visitation reserved for family. A memorial service will be held November 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Comstock Community Center, 6330 King Highway Kalamazoo MI 49048. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Julie's name to either the Gary Sinise Foundation, or to a fund set up to provide literature to those seeking recovery from addiction at: https://bit.ly/33TrZHc. Julie was greatly and widely loved. She will live on in our hearts and in our shared stories. We will hear her in her favorite music, see her in her grandchildren's faces, and feel her touch on our faces when we turn them to the sun. Thanks to all who have extended condolences, your thoughts, prayers and well wishes are deeply appreciated. The family is being cared for by Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
