Judy Packard

Judy Ellen (Wolnosky) Packard passed away peacefully in her home on December 23rd with her daughters at her side. A thirty year resident of Leelanau County, Judy was born in Detroit on December 14th, 1946, to Ervin Wolnosky and Marion Cloyd. She received a master's degree in special education from Eastern Michigan University and worked for many years as a teacher in Northern Michigan. In recent years, she also served as a tutor and advocate for families of the local Hispanic community. Judy is survived by her daughters, Mary Packard of Lakeland, Florida, and April (Colin) Livingston of San Diego; her sister, Carolyn Distler of St. Clair Shores; two nephews and a grandnephew, as well as many cherished friends. A celebration of life will be held at the Suttons Bay Congregational Church on Saturday, January 28th at 2 p.m. Donations in honor of Judy's memory may be sent to the Suttons Bay Township Library or the Suttons Bay Congregational Church.
