Judith Kay Olson, 77, of Mattawan, Michigan unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019. Judy was born October 4, 1941, the first daughter to Robert (Bob) and Elinor (Shutts) Lammon. Judy graduated from Mattawan High School with the class of 1959. She married Albert Edmond Olson on August 12, 1960. They were married for 56 years before Al's passing on October 12, 2016. Together, they had three daughters: Christine (Mike) Linihan, Sandra (Dave) Sexton and Kimberly Olson, all of Mattawan. Judy worked for 30 years at Mattawan Consolidated School in various roles, ultimately retiring after 15 years of service as Bookkeeper. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Mattawan where she served as treasurer for many years. She formed the Junior Choir and the return of the Hand Bell Choir. Judy and Al spent many winters in Lehigh Acres, Florida. While in Florida, Judy volunteered at the Senior Center and was active in the General Woman's Club. In Kalamazoo, she enjoyed volunteering at Lending Hands. Judy is survived by her three daughters, two sons-in-law, five grandchildren; Megan Ritsema, Chaise Rogers, Victoria Linihan, Jessika Rogers, Albert-John Rogers and two great-grandsons; Hunter Rogers and Grayson Linihan. As well as her sister Cathy (Ross) Lammon-Boissoneau of Empire, Michigan, two sisters-in-law; Connie (Leon) Puzevic and Elaine (Doug) Allman as well as many nieces and nephews. Judy was proceeded in death by her parents, husband and sister Sharon Brooks. A celebration of Judy's life will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019, at the Antwerp Township Center in Mattawan from 1:00- 4:00pm, with a prayer service beginning at 1:30p.m.. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date.
