Joyce Prough

Joyce Marie Prough, 91, passed away January 7, 2020 following a brief stay at Rose Arbor Hospice. She was born March 23, 1928 in Comstock, Michigan to the late Rudolph and Nina (Ayers) Rother.

Joyce worked for The Upjohn Company in food service. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, sewing, and cake decorating. She spent lots of time reading and solving Sudoku puzzles, and most mornings were spent eating breakfast and socializing at LaRue's. Joyce also liked to watch and feed the birds and other wildlife.

Joyce was united in marriage to Robert Prough on September 2, 1947. Robert preceded her in death on November 20, 2011 after 64 loving years together. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ginger Prough, in 1962.

She is survived by her children, Bob (Deby) Prough of Stephenville, TX, Terri (Randy) Campbell of Gun Lake, John (Dena) Prough of Gun Lake, and Mike (Melissa) Prough of Gun Lake; seven grandchildren, Amberly, Ryan (Terra), Jackie (Ron), Aaron (Carlee), Lindsay (Brandon), Lisa (Nathan), and Ross (Brooke); 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will greet friends Friday, January 10, 2020 from 1-3:00PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009. No services are scheduled.
