She is survived by her sons, James Peter Jackson of DeWitt, Michigan, David Wayne Jackson (Margaret McAllister) of Kalamazoo, and Steven Troy Jackson (Amy) of LaFollette, Tennessee; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Joyce trained as a Radiology Technician and had a career in the medical field in various capacities.Joyce was proud of the accomplishments of her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Joyce was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and she spent many years as a member of the Kalamazoo Sweet Adelines, performing in both the chorus and in quartets.Joyce was very active in the parent organization of Comstock West Elementary School and chaired the school Halloween party for several years. After Wayne passed away, Joyce surprised her family by announcing that she was selling the family home and moving to Florida. She thrived in Florida, making new friends, playing bridge several times a week and participating with her new church family. Joyce had a lifelong passion for reading, especially murder mysteries. The family recently estimated that she had read over 10,000 books in her lifetime. She moved back to Kalamazoo in 2012 to be closer to her family. Joyce appreciated her stay at Friendship Village by making friends and participating in many activities. She enjoyed family visits and sharing family news with her fellow residents. She especially enjoyed a large celebration for her 85th birthday in 2013 when many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren attended. Joyce will be interred at Mt. EverRest Memorial Park next to Wayne and Elizabeth Ann. Memorials may be made to the Friendship Village Library in Joyce's name. Arrangements are entrusted to J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, Albion.
