Joseph “Joe” Adamek, age 84, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Joe was born January 19, 1932 in Carrolville (Oak Creek) WI to the late Joseph and Marie (Nee: Kratka) Adamek.

During the Korean War he proudly served in the United States Army. On May 8, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Racine he was united in marriage to Joan Koleske who preceded him in death, June 11, 2002. He was employed by Modine Manufacturing for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1994. Joe was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and he enjoyed his Model Airplane Flying Club. More than anything he cherished time spent with his grandsons.

He will be dearly missed by his son, Joseph Frank Adamek; his three grandsons, Adam, Aaron “Rudy” (fiancée, Britini Otwaska) and Sam; great-granddaughter, Natalie Rose; daughter-in-law, Stacy Adamek; sister, Rose Adamek; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his sister Marie Wasik.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, January 20, 2017, 6:00 P.M. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Avenue, with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 4:00 P.M. until time of Mass at 6:00 P.M. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held Saturday, 10:00 A.M. at the Bohemian National Cemetery, Five Mile Road. Memorials to St. Edward Catholic School have been suggested.

A special thank you to the entire staff at the Veteran’s Home in Union Grove and the staff at Home Harbor for their loving and compassionate care.
