Johnnie Smith

Johnnie Junior Smith 79, of Galesburg, Michigan passed away July 3, 2020 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MIchigan. He was born on March 27, 1941 in Spring City, Tennessee to Lola and Owen Smith. John was self-employed in the drywall business (Smith Brother's Drywall) for most of his career John Smith is survived by his wife Susan Burton Smith of 26 years and their children Ashley and Kalee Smith of Galesburg, Michigan and his stepdaughter, Kelly Burton of Comstock, Michigan. He is also survived by his other children, Kelly Vance of Sturgis, Michigan, (Trish) and Scott Pletcher of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Sherry Guffey of Spring City, Tennessee, (Bill) and Lisa Smith of Delton, Michigan, (Paul Smith) and Natalie Thomas of Kalamazoo, Michigan, (Earl) and Naomi Smith of Battle Creek, Michigan and (Johnnie) and Tara Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John had many brothers and sisters. Survived are (Barbara) and Jim Roution of Amilia, Ohio, (Richard) and Lisa Smith of Galesburg, Michigan, (Minnie) and Dan Galyon of Harriman, Tennessee, and Darryl Smith of Battle Creek, Michigan. John is preceded in death by his parents Lola and Owen Smith and his brothers, Frank, David, Danny, Mike, and Harold Smith. A celebration of John's life will be held at the Augusta Fellowship United Methodist Church in Augusta, Michigan on July 11th at 1:00 for family and friends. Cremation arrangements handled through J. Gilbert Purse funeral home of Adrian, Michigan.
