John Simpson

SIMPSON, JOHN O. Kalamazoo, MI John went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Kalamazoo. He was born April 8, 1936 in Watson Township to Clarence and Florence (Blair) Simpson. He served in the Army and later earned an accounting degree from Western Michigan University. He worked as an accountant, tax preparer, roofer, and handyman. He valued his Christian faith and deeply enjoyed helping others. On April 12, 1969, he married Virginia Crotser, who passed away in 1993. Surviving are their children, Todd (Julie) Simpson of Mattawan, Michigan and Kevin (Diana) Simpson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; six grandchildren, Nathan, Zack, Channing, Micah, Levi, and Isaac; two brothers, Maurice Simpson and Roger (Jane) Simpson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and siblings, Betty MacDonald, Clayton Simpson, Robert Simpson, Lorraine Henry, and Geraldine Blake. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Calvary Bible Church in Kalamazoo.
