John Douglas Malpass, age 83, of Vicksburg, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Even during his battle with vascular dementia, John displayed kindness and a sense of humor appreciated by all those he encountered. He will be missed by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lou (Haskins) Malpass; six daughters Rhonda Malpass, Lori (Jim) Bottema, Wendy DeNeve, Shelly (Andrew) Odebrecht, Dawn (Hollis) VanderLoon, Julie (Mike) Lichter; grandchildren Ashley, Abby, Hayley, Samantha, Jake, Allison and Levi; as well as many other loving friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 3:00 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Vicksburg, Michigan. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan for their compassionate assistance with dad during his final days.
