John H. "Jack" Critchlow, 72, of Bellevue, died November 11, 2006.
Jack was born September 13, 1934, the son of John T. and Gladys (Tillie) Critchlow in Montgomery, Indiana.
He served in the U. S. Navy and received his Bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. He was a teacher and coach for more than 30 years retiring in 1987 from Bellevue High School.
Jack married Mary F. Carpp on December 23, 1956 in Lawrence, Michigan. She survives. Also surviving are their children, David (Carmen) Critchlow of Battle Creek, Tom (Debbie) Critchlow of Olivet, Louise (Harry) Augustine of Bellevue and Tim (Suecia) Critchlow of Jacksonville, Florida; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Jack loved coaching basketball and enjoyed playing golf, researching genealogy and camping. He was active in his community as a life member of Bellevue Masonic Lodge #83, F.&A.M., the Olivet Country Club, a life member of N.E.A., M.E.A., and E.C.A.R.S.P., a member of O.E.S. #399, the Bellevue United Methodist Church and their men's club, the American Legion #54 and the camping clubs, T.T.C.M., H.R.R.V.C. and N.C.T.
Friends may visit from 5 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Bellevue United Methodist Church, Pastor Virginia Heller, officiating. Interment, Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations may go to Bellevue United Methodist Church.
