John Holtman began his life in Parchment MI born to John and Rose (Born) Holtman in May of 1937, later he married Darla (Cowling) in Sept of 1956. John and Darla are survived by their children Patty (Tom) Reid, Steve (Debbie) Holtman, Scott (Tricia) Holtman and Angela (Joel) Pierce, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He retired from Consumers Concrete where he drove ready mix truck and later started his own construction business Holtman Concrete. During his life John enjoyed fishing and working with wood. He will be well remembered for building just about anything anyone could want. He built his home as well as each of his children’s homes. He even built wooden cement trucks and elephant stepping stools for his grandchildren. John enjoyed spending hours on Little Long Lake, where he caught many prized size fish. John was often seen around town at local mom and pop restaurants with his little dog Dolly where he enjoyed good conversations amongst friends. John passed away at home on July 1 with his beloved dog Dolly at his side. The family greatly appreciates the help of Melissa Wyatt and Carol Harvath for all their help in caring of their dad John. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
