John Edward Beckett Jr, age 62, passed away unexpectedly after complications from surgery on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in Ft. Myers, Florida. Many loved ones traveled from Wisconsin to be by John's side in his final days. He was born in Racine, WI, July 16, 1954, son of the late John and Dolores (Nee:Becraft) Beckett.

John graduated from J.I. Case High School “Class of 1972” and went on to receive a B.S. Degree from the University of Wisconsin Parkside. He marched in the Racine Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps during their championship years. John was employed by S.C. Johnson for 40 years retiring in 2012. He was a former member of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church. John loved his Green Bay Packers and never missed watching a game. He was an avid scuba diver and loved tropical vacationing in his favorite destination spot, Jamaica. He had a true passion for his Harley Davidson and lived to ride. The only thing that surpassed his love for his Harley and warm weather, was the love he had for his family and friends. John will be remembered for his free spirit, infectious laugh, and his love for people of all walks of life.

He will dearly be missed by his children, Carrie (Kevin) Matson, Kyle Beckett (Lynn Sobotta), Sean Beckett; treasured grandchildren, Tyler and Isabella; brother, Dennis (Sandy) Beckett; sisters, Christine (Michael) Cuccia, Kimberly Frontczak; nieces and nephews, Denny Beckett, Amy Beckett, Jennifer (Kavin) Grays, Andrew (Samantha) Kueffler, Joshua Kueffler; many other dear relatives and friends-way to numerous to mention. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his best friend, William Larrabee.

Service celebrating John's life will be held at the funeral home Thursday, April 13, 2017, visitation 5-7 P.M. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. In the spirit of John, all are encouraged to wear Harley Davidson, Green Bay Packers, or tropical attire to the service. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
