John Boss

John passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his home in Otsego. He was born March 17, 1959 in Allegan the son of Donald E. and Mae Marie (Regnier) Boss. John was a 1977 Plainwell High School graduate. For more than 23 years he had worked at Simpson Paper until it closed then worked at Western Michigan University in the Maintenance Department until his passing. John was an animal lover and enjoyed cooking, farming, woodworking, remodeling his home and most of all playing with his grandson, John Bear. On May 15, 1981 at the Alamo Community Congregational Church he married Nancy Roberts who survives. Also surviving are his children, Amber (Robert) Watson of Plainwell and Jennifer (Daniel) Doctor-Boss of Plainwell; grandson, John Watson and his siblings, Donald (Judy) Boss of Otsego, Neil (Allison) Boss of Portage and Robert Boss of Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by his parents. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Alamo Community Congregational Church with his brothers, Pastor Don Boss and Pastor Neil Boss officiating. Friends were invited to coffee and desserts following the service.
