Passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 in Coldwater. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. There will be time for friends and family to visit after the memorial. John was born November 26, 1941 to Peter and Charlotte (Vanden Bosch) Bosker in Kalamazoo. After graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School, John received a Bachelors and Master of Arts Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Western Michigan University. He was inducted in to the United States Army on April 4, 1963 and was honorably discharged on April 2, 1965 at Ft. Riley, Kansas having attained the rank of SP4. John married Linda Johnson on March 11, 1967 in Kalamazoo. He worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor, specializing in working with people with disabilities, for the State of Michigan. He worked in Coldwater and Battle Creek, retiring in 2007 after 30 years of employment. He was a member of Lockwood Community Church, the YMCA in Angola, Indiana and Western Michigan University Alumni Association. John was an avid Western Michigan University sports fan and especially enjoyed his season tickets to Bronco football games. He enjoyed boating, bocce, euchre, yodeling, shuffle board, golfing and going on family vacations. John loved spending time with his family and making everyone laugh. John is survived by his wife of 51years, Linda; his sons, Keith (Kelly) Bosker of Park Ridge, Illinois and Eric Bosker of Loveland, Colorado; his granddaughter, Mamata Marie Bosker and his brother, Paul Bosker of Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Robert and Charles Bosker. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Branch County Humane Society.
